Product Manual PDF (view)The Jabsco 51580-2001 is a bronze Flexible Impeller pump with a Neoprene Impeller, Carbon/Ceramic Mechanical Seal, 1 Inch BSP Ports. This manually activated clutch pump offers all the benefits of flexible impeller pumps with a moderate flow rate and horizontally oriented ports. This is a heavy-duty bilge and deck wash pump, that is belt driven from the engine, for leisure and commercial craft. This pump has a nominal flow rate of 24.5 GPM (81.33 LPM), is self-priming up to 15' (4.5m) vertical lift and primes at low or high speeds. Be sure suction lines are airtight or pump will not self-prime. If fluid does not enter pump after 30 seconds, stop pump, and check inlet hose for leaks and/or blockages. Maximum speed for these pumps is 2200 rpm, do not operate pump outside the published limits. The Neoprene impeller in this pump depends on liquid pumped for lubrication. Do not run dry for more than thirty (30) seconds as lack of liquid will burn the impeller. Pump may be mounted in any position. Intake and discharge ports are determined by the direction of shaft rotation.

Applications
This Jabsco flexible impeller pump combines the priming feature of positive displacement type pumps with the general transfer ability of centrifugals. It will pump either thin or viscous liquids and can handle more solids in suspension than other types of rotary pumps. It operates at low or high speeds can be mounted at any angle and pumps in either direction with equal efficiency. Typical Applications for this pump are Engine cooling, bilge pumping, washdown and deck flooding, ballast transfer, general purpose pump, fire fighting. Circulation and transfer of water, sump drainage, cellar drainage, emergency pumping. Waste water removal, shallow well pump, ditch drainage.
