Oberdorfer 172B-08A81 Centrifugal Pump and motor unit

The Oberdorfer 172B-08A81 is a Bronze Centrifugal Pump and motor unit, with Bronze Impeller, Viton Mechanical Seal, 3/4 Inch NPT Inlet by 3/4 Inch NPT Outlet Ports, and is close coupled to a 1/10 HP, 3700 RPM, 12V DC, TENV Motor. This long-life centrifugal pump delivers high flows up to 13 GPM with a maximum pressure of 7 psi. The pump uses a mechanical type shaft seal with a Viton rubber element. It is suitable for water, oils, and some mild solvents and is limited to 400 degrees F. Liquid enters at the center and is thrown outward radially by centrifugal force. The impeller is not in contact with other pump parts resulting in quiet, efficient pumping action. Consequently, a relief valve is not required. This centrifugal circulation pump is designed for reliability and ease of use, and is the correct product for closed-circuit circulation systems, such as livewell circulation, washdown, central heating and other flooded suction applications. This pump is ideal for hot water circulation duties such as engine cooling and central heating systems. This pump is not self-priming. It must be installed below the liquid level so that the liquid flows to the pump by gravity (flooded suction). The pump can be mounted on any flat surface, and must be installed below the lowest fluid level to maintain flooded suction. The flow of these pumps can be conveniently controlled by a throttling valve in the discharge line. Horsepower demand will decrease as the pressure increases. Maximum horsepower occurs with a wide open discharge.
