The Shurflo CMNA55 is a Centrifugal Pump and Motor unit, with all Noryl plastic construction, Noryl Housing, Noryl impeller, FKM Viton/Carbon/Ceramic/Noryl encased Mechanical Seal, 96 GPM rated impeller, 1-1/2 inch FNPT by 1-1/2 inch FNPT Ports, close coupled to a 1-1/2 Horsepower, 3450 RPM, 115/230 Volts, ODP Open Drip Proof Motor. Shurflo makes this pump but it was previously branded as the Sherwood # CMNA55, and the Shertech # CMNA55 (also Teel # CMNA55) - they are all the same pump made by Shurflo Industrial. This close-coupled non-metallic pump produces high flow rates under moderate head conditions. This pump is designed for use in industrial chemical applications as the pumps are made of Noryl, which is a non-metallic plastic, and is chemical-resistant to most acids, alkalis, and inorganic solvents. Noryl is stiffer under pressure and temperature than the Polypropylene series. This Noryl series Centrifugal Pump can handle an inlet booster pressure up to 30 PSI and a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F. This pump is equipped with a unique chemical-resistant carbon ceramic mechanical seal with Viton elastomer having the stainless steel components sealed in Noryl allowing for a complete non-metallic Noryl wet end. This unique seal guarantees reliability through it's simplicity and balance of design. Even the motor and pedestal drive shaft are protected by the seal design. The seal is Noryl encased with Viton elastomer and no metallic components are exposed to the fluid being pumped. This pump is rated for up to 96 GPM at 10 feet of head, and a maximum head of 91 feet. The single-phase motor on this unit is equipped with thermal overload protection, and this ODP motor has a greater than 1.15 service factor. The motor has a Stainless Steel shaft, is NEMA 56J frame with a rigid base, and is NOT supplied with a power cord. This pump is simple in construction with a minimum number of moving parts for less maintenance and longer life. This pump is a is not self-priming and cannot suction lift, flooded inlet is required. If inlet is not flooded when the pump is running, seal failure will result. IMPORTANT : Do not use this pump to pump flammable or explosive fluids such as gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, etc., and do not use in flammable and/or explosive atmospheres. When pumping hazardous or dangerous materials, use only in room or area designated for that purpose.

Applications

Typical Applications for the CMNA55 pump are pumping liquids for Plating, Water Treatment, Fume Scrubbers, Parts Washer, Chemical Transfer, Pools and Spas, Industrial Chillers, Solvent Recovery, Circulation of Purified Water or Chemicals, Heat Exchanger Circulation, and Industrial Surface Cleaning applications. These pumps are designed for continuous medium pressure circulation and transfer of nonflammable liquids, water circulation, booster service, irrigation, spraying systems, jockey pump service, aggressive liquid applications, and other general purpose pumping compatible with pump component materials where no suction lift is required. A Water seal flush port is provided for the decontamination of chemicals on the seal and seat elastomers, which when used increases seal life with aggressive fluids. Waterflushed seals are recommended for abrasive solutions, high temperature service, or when pumps may be run dry or against deadhead conditions. When conditions cause the pumped liquid to form crystals, or if the pump remains idle for a period of time without adequate flushing, a waterflush seal system is advised. The water flush will provide decontamination of chemicals on elastomers and seal and seat faces, while providing lubrication required for startup. This pump will handle specific gravities up to 1.1 at 100 SSU or less. For specific gravities greater than 1.1 and up to 1.4 at 100 SSU or less, you will need to increase the motor HorsePower by one size but not to exceed standard 3 HP motor at 3450 RPM or 65 in. lbs. of torque maximum. Higher specific gravity fluids are not recommended. For viscosities, this pump will handle viscosity to 100 SSU at 1.1 specific gravity or less and up to 200 SSU specific gravity of 1.0 or less. For viscosity up to 400 SSU specific gravity of 1.0 or less, you will need to increase the motor HP by one size but not to exceed standard 3 HP motor at 3450 RPM. For fluids with a viscosity greater than 400 SSU, pump speed must be reduced below 3450 RPM.
