The Iwaki MDM1518EKK10 is a Centrifugal Magnetic Drive Pump end, 215TC frame, 10 HP rated, with CFRETFE carbon fibre reinforced ETFE casing, CFRETFE Impeller rated for 10 HP, Silicon carbide bearing, Silicon carbide shaft, PTFE Teflon gasket, with 1-1/2 inch 150 lb. flange inlet by 1 inch 150 lb. flange outlet Ports, replacement pump end only without a Motor. This is a pump end only and requires a 3 HP, 3500 RPM, 182TC Nema frame, round body motor. This pump is a centrifugal magnetic drive pump, which eliminates the need for a shaft seal, and features a unique non-contact system design that enable them to withstand dry running in comparison with conventional magnetic drive pumps made of fluororesin. This seal-less centrifugal magnetic drive pump ideal for applications such as chemical re-circulation, and chemical transfer with chemicals such as bleach and sulphuric acid, and is designed to solve the most demanding chemical handling applications. This MDM Series magnetic drive process pump has wetted parts made of CFRETFE fluororesin, and is a chemical process pump designed to solve the most demanding chemical handling applications. The front casing is made of ETFE type A moulding made of carbon fibre reinforced CFRETFE. It has both a high mechanical strength and excellent corrosion resistance. The outer peripheral surfaces are reinforced by a ductile cast iron outer casing in order to achieve excellent strength and durability. It has a closed type CFRETFE impeller that is designed to give a high efficiency. To ensure the positive fixing of the impeller to the magnet capsule a spline system is used together with a pin, which prevents the impeller from moving axially off the magnet capsule. The CFRETFE fluororesin rear casing is strengthened by the outer rear casing cover which is manufactured in fibre reinforced plastic capable of withstanding a pressure of 1 MPa, and also eliminates any eddy current losses due to a rotating magnetic field. It also prevents sparks from being produced should the rear casing come into contact with the drive magnet unit. In order to facilitate inspection and maintenance, this pump employs the back pullout system. This enables one to conduct inspections internally and replace parts without removing piping. The pump is designed to include safety measures that can prevent the liquid from leaking when the foot support / bracket is pulled back. A PTFE shrouded gasket is used to enhance sealing performance and corrosion resistance. This pump has SiC Silicon Carbide bearings which give high resistance to abrasion, and can be individually replaced.
WEIGHT : The Iwaki MDM1518EKK10 weighs 100 Lbs.
There are many applications that the Iwaki MDM1518EKK10 are used in. Typical applications cover a wide range of chemical process duties from acid to alkali together with high purity chemicals for the semiconductor industry. In general, liquids with slurries should not be handled. However, this pump has a SiC Silicon carbide bearing system that can handle slurries if the hardness is 80 Hs or below, and that have a standard maximum grain size of 2 MIL 50 microns and a maximum density 5 percent wt. The performance of this pump does not change when pumping fluids of high specific gravity. However, the effect of specific gravity on shaft power and magnet coupling torque requirements must be considered in the selection of the appropriate model for your application. When pumping a high viscosity liquid, the discharge head and capacity of the pump may be lower than in the case of pure water. The required driving power may also vary and should be verified. The pump itself may not suffer a change in performance due to temperature fluctuation. However, the liquid may change in terms of viscosity, vapor pressure, and corrosive properties. Pay special attention to changes in liquid characteristics as a result of temperature fluctuation. Refer to corrosion resistance tables for the recommended temperature range for various types of liquids. Do not operate the pump dry. The sliding parts used in the MDM series pump are lubricated and cooled by the fluid being pumped. Never intentionally operate the pump dry or with the valves on the suction side closed, otherwise, the inside of the pump will be damaged. Avoid pump installations with poor suction conditions e.g. vacuum in suction tank, large suction head or long suction piping. NPSHa should always be at least 2 feet greater than NPSHr. For NPSHr values, refer to the standard performance curve for your pump model.
