The Groco ASEF-6000 is a ASEF Series 6 inch flanged Large Engine Strainer with 304 SS Basket, Bronze Enclosure, and 6 Inch Flanged by 6 Inch Flanged Ports. These are made in the USA. This strainer is for high-powered engines with 6 inch intakes, and has low restriction for maximum cooling water flow. Today's high power engines demand high flow capacity these raw water strainers are up for the job. For installation on the suction side of the plumbing system, and designed with minimal restriction and high flow output in mind, these strainers are the ideal solution for large engine cooling needs. These strainers are fitted with a bronze cylinder in place of a clear slight glass to be compliant with ABS standards and USCG requirements. It has an improved cylindrical filter basket, no inside tie rods, and the cap and basket have replaceable zinc anode protection. The cover unscrews for easy filter basket cleaning, and the O-rings seal all mating surfaces. This strainer can be converted to self-cleaning operation. Ports are ANSI pipe flange connections and Bronze flange adaptors are available for connecting pipe or hose to flanged strainers. The 304 Stainless Steel basket is standard with.077 inch holes (.125 inch and.188 inch hole sizes are optional).

Applications

General Installation Locate the strainer in a vertical orientation between the inlet seacock and the engine raw water pump in a location that will allow routing maintenance. Leave at least 12 inches above the top of the strainer for removal of the filter basket for cleaning.
