Product Information :

The Gorman Rupp Industries (GRI) model # 14520-054 is a Ryton Magnetic Drive Centrifugal Pump with a Ryton Impeller, close coupled to a 27 Volts Brushless DC Motor. This pump has a performance range up to 26 gpm and a maximum head up to 35 feet. This magnetic drive centrifugal pump's operation is similar to a standard centrifugal pump except the motor shaft seal is eliminated. Magnetic drive pumps are designed to isolate the pump body from the motor by driving an impeller and magnet assembly with a drive magnet attached to the motor shaft. Motor torque is transmitted by a drive magnet through a plastic housing to the impeller assembly. The plastic housing separates the motor drive magnet from the fluid being pumped. Leaks caused by shaft seal failure are eliminated. The end result is a more efficient seal-less centrifugal pump that will not leak and is capable of achieving up to 50 thousand hours of continuous duty operation. Impellers and pump bodies are designed to produce efficient flow and head characteristics required in todays applications. The hydraulic designs, coupled with motors specifically designed for the pump end, means less power consumption for the work per-formed. These GRI Centrifugal pumps are designed to transfer both corrosive and non-corrosive fluids at maximum hydraulic efficiencies. GRI Mag-Drive Centrifugal pumps are not self-priming and must be used in applications where a flooded suction exists. These pumps cannot be run dry. To allow for optimum life the Maximum Fluid Temperature for this mag drive pump is up to 203 degrees F (95 degrees C). The wetted materials of this pump are Ryton, EPDM, Carbon, Teflon and Ceramic.

Typical applications for the GRI 14520054 include marine applications, laser systems, alternative energy systems, public transit systems, chillers, deviced whic circulate glycol or water, alternative power units, thermal heating and cooling systems, pirinting tools, beverage dispensers, recreational vehicle production, cooler systems, medical machinery and systems, fuel cells, coolant systems, and hydronic systems. To handle the most aggressive chemicals, the materials of construction consist of special combinations of chemically inert plastic. The impeller shaft and bearing system handle the inherent friction and motor heat with builtin cooling passages that are designed to use the pumped liquid as a lubricating coolant. These pumps use ceramic shafts with either Teflon or ceramic thrust bearings as standard materials for each magnetic drive pump line. These robust features add tremendously to the chemical compatibility and overall life of the pump to make it virtually maintenance free. The leakfree characteristics in these magnetic drive pumps makes them perfect for applications in the laboratory and analytical instrumentation market, whether using them for fluid metering, sterilizing laboratory and surgical equipment, a critical analytical application, or a simple fluid circulation loop.
