Cat Pump # 431 Piston Pump

The Cat Pump 431 is a Piston Pump, pump end only, with 304 Stainless Steel construction, 1/2 inch NPT(F) Inlet port x 3/8 inch NPT(F) Discharge port, and is rated for up to 5 GPM, and 1000 PSI at maximum shaft speed of 1040 RPM. This triplex (three piston rods) positive displacement, reciprocating piston pump is constructed with 316 stainless steel manifolds, 304 stainless steel valve assemblies, and un-chromed 304 stainless steel sleeves and cylinders. Multiple piston cup and seal configurations are available with NBR (Buna-N) O-rings. The lower RPM belt drive design provides strong inlet suction and long-lasting pump and seal life. The design of the piston pump is for the fluid to move continually in one, smooth forward direction. This design allows greater suction capabilities and reduces the risk of cavitation provided the pump is properly primed. At the beginning of the stroke, the mechanically actuated inlet valve (and piston) will close. As the piston rod moves forward, the liquid is forced out through the discharge valves. Simultaneously, the liquid enters the pump inlet and flows in behind the inlet valve. As the piston rod begins the backward stroke, the inlet valve mechanically opens, permitting the liquid to continue its flow forward through the piston into the discharge chamber. IMPORTANT : All high-pressure systems require a primary pressure regulating device (e. g. regulator, unloader) and a secondary pressure relief device (e. g. pop-off valve, relief valve). Failure to install such relief devices could result in personal injury or damage to pump or property.
