NOTE: Test data taken on SAE 10 wt. oil at 70° F. (500 SSU).
Performance in water will decrease by about 10%, and HP required will also be reduced by 10% (see the chart below).
Pump performance when pump is new. As pump wears, the performance will decrease.


DESIGN: Pump parts are constructed of cast iron, steel, stainless steel (17-7, 303 and/or 18-8), vellumoid, carbon, ceramic and Viton. Specifically designed to be used with oil-based fluids, not to be used with water-based fluids. Pumps include steel spur gears with steel shafts and cast iron shaft support. Standard integral safety pressure relief valve is included. (we do not sell these without the Relief Valve)
Uses: For use with non-particulate and non-abrasive fluids compatible with pump construction component materials.
VISCOSITY: Standard pump models (at 1750 RPM) will handle viscosity up to 500 SSU. For 1000 - 10,000 SSU use 900 RPM motor speed max. Please consult our Gear Pump selection guide (click here) for selection assistance.
Optional Close-Coupled Gear Speed Reducers are available that mount directly between pump and motor to reduce pump speed for high viscosity
PRESSURES: Maximum pressure to 125 PSI and working casing pressure to 200 PSI. *Maximum Inlet Booster Pressure is 50 PSI (gears will start to flex if pressure on the inlet side exceeds 50 PSI, causing excessive wear).
SELF PRIMING: Max. Suction Lift of 3.5 feet a 1750 RPM, and 1.5 feet at 900 RPM. Suction lift requires wetted gears and primed seal chamber.
TEMPERATURES: Recommended for liquid temperatures from 32 ° to 280° F. (standard Viton seal)

USES :
Shertech self-priming, positive displacement, external rotary gear pumps operate bi-directionally (reversible) and provide nearly pulseless flow for a wide range of industrial, marine, agricultural, and commercial chemical-duty applications. Mounted directly to NEMA frame AC Open Drip-Proof (ODP) motors using an easy-installation package, or as pump heads only for custom installations.

Do not use to pump flammable or explosive fluids such as gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene, etc. Do not use in flammable and/or explosive atmospheres. When pumping hazardous or dangerous materials, use only in a room or area designated for that purpose. For proper handling techniques and cautions, contact your chemical supplier, insurance company and local agencies (fire dept., etc.).
