Product Information :

The Jabsco 17360-1001 is a bronze Flexible Impeller engine cooling pump with a Neoprene Impeller, and 2-1/2 Inch Flange Type Ports. This pump is a Marine Engine Cooling Pump for Caterpillar engine models D-336 and D-353. With minor plumbing modifications this pump may be adapted to the Caterpillar D-343, the Detroit Diesel V-71 and V-92 and some Stewart and Stevenson marinizations of Detroit Diesel Engines. This pump is self-priming, and will self-prime at low or high speeds. It will pump instantly, with dry suction lifts of up to 3m (10 feet), and up to 8m (25 feet) when wetted. This permits cleaner, safer installations. Be sure suction lines are airtight or the pump will not self-prime. The intake vacuum suction pressure should not exceed 7 inches or mercury (178mm Hg), and discharge pressure should not exceed 20 PSI (138 kPa). Typical pressure 12 15 PSI, and excess discharge pressure may cause impeller damage. The Neoprene impeller in this pump depends on liquid pumped for lubrication. Do not run dry for more than thirty (30) seconds as lack of liquid will burn the impeller. This is a Gear Drive Engine Cooling Pump and the drive gear fitted to this heavy duty flange mount pump is supported by the pump ball bearings and driven by one of the engine gears.
