Groco # ARG-500-S Bronze 1/2" Strainer with SST Basket

The Groco ARG-500-S is a ARG Series Cast Bronze 1/2 Inch Raw Water Strainer with Stainless Steel Basket, Clear Sight Glass, and 1/2 Inch by 1/2 Inch Ports. The MODELMODEL raw water strainer is the ideal filtration solution for cooling water intakes for any marine engine, air conditioning unit, or genset. It has a C84400 bronze head casting and is UL Listed 255-D. This strainer is to be installed on the suction side of engines and pumps. The superior design makes them long lasting and easy to service while the variety of sizes means there is a fit for every application. This ARG series raw water strainer has a non-metallic cap that magnifies internal viewing for easy inspection, and a one-piece molded sight glass that eliminates tie rods and gaskets. The mounting system allows for removal without tools. It has a bonding connection on both sides, npt threaded ports, improved drain plug, an improved basket and handle, and o-rings seal all joining surfaces. This strainer has a non-metallic filter that is an advantage in continuous running or high usage installations such as air conditioning, generators, or refrigeration systems where the continuous flow of sea water shortens filter basket life. This non-metallic basket is inter-changeable with the metallic baskets. Install ARG series strainers vertically oriented above the outside waterline if possible.
